Rock of Hope Church in Wisconsin Dells

Pastor Aaron Ramquist delivers a Bible based message on generosity  Many people who have been looking for a church that preaches the Word have joined Rock of Hope Church.

Aaron and Amanda Ramquist started Rock of Hope Church with the intention of making disciples in the Lake Delton and Wisconsin Dells region.

A church begins when God gives one person or one couple a vision to start a new church that will reach new people.    That took place when Aaron and Amanda Ramquist started working in the Wisconsin Dells region in the Spring of 2015.    Their church, Rock of Hope Church, is now made up of many new people who have not been involved in a thriving local, Bible believing church.

This church now meets in downtown Wisconsin Dells in a temporary location.    Please for Rock of Hope Church as they search for a longer term solution to where they can meet on Sunday mornings.    Pray also God continues to draw people to the redemptive message of the Gospel through this local body of believers.  For more information on this strategic church go to www.dells.church.

2016 year in review sees three new churches planted
Dear Friends in Christ, As we come to the end of 2016 the Lord has helped us to see three new churches get started here in our association.    We are thankful for God’s favor on us and for sending us new laborers for the harvest.   We have chosen this newsletter to highlight these three churches.  We take note that all 29 of our churches have been partners in this effort along with our partners across North America.    You can read about these churches in this final 2016 edition …….

Investing In Changed Lives

As we near the end of 2016 we see that the need for the Gospel of Jesus Christ is more urgent than ever before in our lifetime.  In 2016 the Southern Wisconsin Baptist Association helped to facilitate three new churches getting started.  New churches do very well at reaching unchurched people and those without the good news of Jesus Christ.

One church that is now started in our our association is Resonate Church in Janesville, Wisconsin.  In this picture you see Pastor Jesse Beernink baptizing one of the children in the church.    We believe that Resonate Church has already made a difference in the life of this young man and will for years to come.

There are ways you can help us to continue to plant new churches and resource our existing churches.   Prayer, people, and provisions continues to be our motto.   As 2016 draws to a close we are asking prayerfully if you will consider giving any amount to the Southern Wisconsin Baptist Association.    You can go online to our main page at www.wisconsinbaptist.org and give through our Donate link.   Your gifts are an investment in eternity as we  see lives changed through the power of the Gospel.

annual meeting is saturday, November 5 at FBC watertown
On Saturday, November 5, our annual meeting for the Southern Wisconsin Baptist Association will be held at First Baptist Watertown.  Some may ask, “Why come to this meeting?”   This meeting will allow you to meet many new people from First Baptist Watertown who joined our association a year ago.  You will hear from Ron Clement teaching on prayer and our partnership with the Salt Lake Baptist Association.  There will be breakout sessions and resources of great value.  More details follow in the newsletter how you can be part of this meeting…….
Valuable training is provided to our pastors and leaders
One of them most significant tasks of our association is to equip our pastors, church planters, and leaders.   Count the Cost was an event held in early October that provided excellent training on helping churches develop a plan to reach people in their communities and to build leadership that will produce a self sustaining church.

Count the Cost Equips Pastors and Church Planters

img_3465 One key component of church planting and church growth is to have a plan.    Our training called Count the Cost that took place from October 3-5 at Transformation Church in Sun Prairie was and is very helpful for our pastors and leaders.     There were 17 pastors and leaders that went through the training from across the Minnesota-Wisconsin Baptist Convention.

One new element to this training was that almost half of the participants were Spanish speaking.  Bill Agee of First Baptist Woodstock, Georgia led the English speaking group.  Church planter and Pastor David Bogran of Charlotte, North Carolina led the Spanish speaking group and he also did a lot of interpreting throughout the event.

Over the last few years our church planters and pastors have used the tool that comes from Count the Cost.  There has been a great deal of positive feedback from this training.  We praise God for the resources given to us by the North American Mission Board and the Minnesota-Wisconsin Baptist Convention to make this valuable training possible.

SWBA Annual Meeting Is November 5 at First Baptist Watertown

Dr. Ron Clement, the Executive Director of the Salt Lake Baptist Association will be our guest speaker for our upcoming annual meeting on Saturday, November 5, at First Baptist Watertown.     Ron will be teaching on prayer during his time with us.   We are grateful for our partnership with the Salt Lake Baptist Association and we look forward to hearing God speak through Ron during his time with us.   Here is a bit more about Ron and his credentials.

Ron has served over 35 years in ministry roles of pastor, church planter, and as a Colorado Baptist Convention Team Leader of Prayer and Evangelism. In January 2016, he accepted the call as Executive Director of the Salt Lake Baptist Association with a strong belief that God called him to this very strategic area. Since the Salt Lake area is heavily populated and influenced by the LDS religion as well as over one-half million people who have no faith affiliation, Ron believes for and seeks a movement of God that the over two million residents of the SLC area will unmistakably know the One, True God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Although he brings experience as a consultant, coach, confidant, trainer, networker, and resource person to churches and ministers in virtually every area of church life, he longs for a day when the lost in the Salt Lake valley will become faithful disciples of Christ who openly declare “Jesus, alone, is Lord!” This compels him to place heavy emphasis on strategic prayer for mission and ministry effectiveness.

Ron’s education includes a Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO; a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX; and a Doctorate of Ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in San Francisco, CA.

Diane, his wife, joins him in this ministry, desiring to be an encourager and supporter to pastors’ wives.  Diane also serves as Ministry Assistant to the Salt Lake Baptist Association.

They have two married daughters: Courtney, married to A.J. Fischer, reside in Colorado Springs; and Kathleen, married to Seth Barkley along with their son, Jed, live in North Carolina. Jed is the first grandson for the Clements.

Do you need a plan?    There is help on the  way!
One of the best questions to ask is, “Do you have a plan?”   Most times when this question is asked there is usually confusion or people are unsure.   There is one tool that we have seen demonstrated to be helpful and useful over the past three years.   This tool is called Count the Cost based on the passage from Luke 14:28.  Through this training your church plant or existing church can develop a five year plan that can assist in your church in planning and developing a strategic plan.   Count the Cost is coming back to our area.   See inside the newsletter how you can register …
