God has raised up another laborer for us on the church planting field of Wisconsin. Robert and Lindsey Smith are moving to Madison to work with internationals in Madison. He will become a church planting intern through the ministry of Red Village Church. His goal will be to engage with international students at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and also to be a missions liaison from Red Village Church to our sister SBC international church plants in the Madison area. Below is a vision that Robert has provided for us as he moves here from Louisville, Kentucky to Madison.
Our goal in Madison is the same as our goal in life: to glorify Christ by making disciples of all nations. Our heart is to serve alongside my friend Pastor Aaron and Red Village Church, helping to mobilize the body of Christ to share the gospel with the numerous international students at the University of Wisconsin: Madison. With over 4,000 international students from over 114 different nations, there is an incredible window of opportunity to see many come to faith in Christ and then take the gospel back to their home country. Along with the Apostle Paul, our ambition is “to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named” (Romans 15:20), focusing on people from nations where it is illegal to share the gospel and where Christianity is not thriving, thus to fulfill the Lord’s Great Commission to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:20)
